Introduction
Chronos lets you manage your time more effectively by introducing
Clock
The Clock function represents a simple skinnable clock, which can work as a screensaver (thus taking all the screen space).
The clock uses skins to draw the clock surface and hands. One skin is included with the application. You can find more on the skins page.
Alarms
The most important feature of Chronos is it's support for an unlimited number of highly customizable alarms.
You can control the alarms using the context menu by selecting the alarm name and waiting for context menu to appear. (It is labeled 'Menu'.)
You can set basic alarm properties via context menu or you can use Properties command to deeply customize alarm behavior.
Countdown Timers
Countdown timers (or simply Timers) are used to notify you when certain amount of time has elapsed.
You can control the timers using the start, stop, and reset options in the context menu. The context menu appears when you select a timer on the main timer screen (It is labeled 'Menu').
You can use the Properties command to deeply customize timer behavior.
You can create timer templates, i.e. timers, which are stored and used many times.
To add a new timer, press the Add button. To start a timer, select it and press the Start button. You can temporarily pause the timer if necessary by pressing 'Stop' in the context menu.
Lap timers
Lap timers let you measure how much time it takes to perform some action.
Chronos supports 2 multi-stage lap timers. This means that you can measure some complex action, such as running 5 laps twice, and measure both the lap results and the overall results.
Since the lap timer is simply a counter, it doesn't have any special settings.

Sound settings
Sound settings dialog is used to customize which sounds you hear and in which way they are played when the alarm or timer sounds.
The settings are:
- Repetitions count specifies, how many times to play the sound if you don't close the alarm window.
- Repetition interval specifies, how many seconds of silence to wait between the sound end and beginning of the new sound signal.
- Ascending Time. If this option is selected, the sound volume starts from 0 (silent) and is increased in equal intervals twice a second until it reaches the volume, specified by the Sound Volume slider. If this option is disabled, the Sound Volume slider defines the volume.
- Respect system sound state. This option tells Chronos to set volume not louder, than what is specified by your system settings. For example, if system volume is set to 50% and alarm volume is set to 100%, the alarm volume won't go over 50%. Also, if the volume is turned off, the alarm won't sound at all.
- Sound. This box let you specify a sound. You can choose one of built-in sounds or select custom sound. MP3 and OGG files that are on your device or storage cards are accepted too.
- Sound Volume. This option specifies the volume of the alarm sound. This setting is affected by other settings as described above.
- Set As Default command. This command copies settings which are currently on the screen to Default settings. Default settings are used when you create a new alarm or use the Reset command. This is located in the context menu.
- Reset command. This command removes the existing settings and overwrites them with the Default settings (either factory default or the ones which you've set with Set As Default command). This is located in the context menu.
- Record Custom Sound This allows you to record your own sound to be used as an alarm. This is located in the context menu.
Vibration settings
The Vibration settings dialog is used to customize, how vibration works when the alarm or timer sounds. Note that vibration works only on certain devices that have the corresponding hardware.
The settings are:
- Start vibration before sound. If the option is selected, the vibration is started before the sound is played, and will vibrate for interval specified in this option before the alarm sound begins. If the option is not selected, the vibration and sound are started at the same time.
- Vibration time specifies, how long the device should vibrate. The options are to vibrate as long as sound is played or to vibrate only for the time in seconds, that you specified.
- Vibration cycle (from the 'Extended' item in the context menu) specifies the behavior of the vibration hardware, i.e. how long it vibrates and how long it stays silent.
